If you cut your finger at work or whilst out and about, or slip and hit your head in a shopping centre, chances are that you'll be greeted by a first aider who will assess the situation and administer the appropriate care and/or get help. However, when the issue concerns mental health rather than physical health, people ore often left not knowing what to do or who to turn to, sometimes leading to serious or even fatal consequences.
Mental health issues are from uncommon; at least one in four of us will suffer from a mental health issue at some stage, and yet two thirds of us either have no one we can speak to, or don't know who to speak to if we need help.
Whilst it's a legal requirement to have a provision for physical first aid in your workplace, it isn't for mental health. Yet...
