1. Statement of Intent
At Spartan Associates Ltd, we are committed to ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of all individuals involved in our operations, including clients, contractors, and visitors. We recognise our responsibility to provide a safe and healthy environment during all training sessions and consultancy services. Our goal is to prevent accidents and incidents, ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and regulations, including – but not limited to – the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, and The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992.
2. Responsibilities
- Management: The management team is responsible for implementing this policy, ensuring that all health and safety procedures are followed, and that adequate resources are provided for health and safety matters.
- Contracted Staff: Spartan Associates Ltd has carried out due diligence with regards to the health, safety, and welfare of our subcontractors, and therefore any subcontractors we employ are covered by our combined Professional Indemnity, Public Liability and Medical Malpractice Insurance, a copy of which can be made available upon request. In addition, all subcontractors are required to:
- Take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their actions.
- Cooperate with Spartan Associates Ltd in health and safety matters.
- Use equipment correctly and as per the manufacturer's instructions, and report any health and safety concerns promptly.
- Hold their own in-date Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate.
- Clients/Venue Owners: Clients and Venue Owners hosting on-site courses are required to:
- Submit a completed Health and Safety Check Sheet to Spartan Associates Ltd prior to the commencement of any on-site training.
- Ensure that the training environment is safe and fit for purpose.
- Take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their actions.
3. Health and Safety Arrangements
- Risk Assessments: It is the responsibility of site owners to carry out a full Risk Assessment to ensure the safety of all using their facilities. We conduct thorough dynamic risk assessments for all training activities and consultancy services to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate control measures. As per our Terms and Conditions, we reserve the right to refuse to train at any venue at any time.
- Training and Competence: All trainers and consultants are qualified and current professionals, ensuring they are competent to deliver training safely and effectively.
- Accident Reporting: All accidents, incidents, or near misses occurring during our operations must be reported immediately to the management team. We maintain records of such events and conduct investigations to prevent recurrence.
- Emergency Procedures: Emergency procedures are communicated to all participants at the start of each training session. This includes information on emergency exits, assembly points, and first aid arrangements.
4. Review of Policy
This Health and Safety Policy will be reviewed annually or as required to ensure it remains relevant and effective. Any changes will be communicated to all stakeholders promptly.
