It's the Law!
The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 (1982 in Northern Ireland) require employers to provide adequate and appropriate equipment, facilities and personnel to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. These Regulations apply to all workplaces including those with less than five employees and to the self-employed. Become compliant when you train and gain with us!
Age: 14+ (must be 16 to act as a First Aider in the Workplace)
It's our mission to have a Mental Health First Aider in every workplace.
We firmly believe that they are just as important as a physical first aider, if not more!
We run courses from Level 1 (Awareness, 4 hours) to Level 3 (Workplace Champion, 12 hours), awarding nationally recognised qualifications. Let us help you or your business become mental health aware and smash the stigma!
We now offer an Annual Refresher course (3 hours) too!
Age: 14+ (except the 2-day Level 3/6 course which is 16+)
Does Safeguarding come under 'First Aid'? We believe so: Everyone is vulnerable at some stage in their lives.
These courses are an eye opener for many people, and will give you and your staff the knowledge to recognise the signs and symptoms when someone may need help, and the tools to be able to listen empathetically and signpost to appropriote help or agencies.
Age: 14+ (Awareness) 18+ (Principles)
The one-day Emergency Paediatric First Aid course has been designed for those who have an interest in child and infant basic life support.
If you have a professional interest, i.e. you are a child-minder or school teacher, etc, then this course partly fulfils the requirements of Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage require you to have 12 hours of paediatric first aid training, so the 2-Day Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid would be required to fulfil their requirements. This 6 hour qualification also makes up the first half of the 12-hour course.
Age: 16+
Heart and circulatory diseases claim around 200,000 lives each year. Many could have been saved if a defibrillator was available.
Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are now becoming more common throughout a range of public and work places. A casualty’s survival rate will dramatically increase if an AED is available and if you have appropriately qualified personnel to use it.
Age: 16+
Involved in forestry or agriculture?
This 3 hour 'bolt-on' course (or 2 hours if added to an EFAW/FAW) is designed to provide the knowledge and competence for a learner to deal with emergency situations in such environments.
It is designed to accompany a suitable First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work qualification to enable a learner to meet the requirements of the Forestry Commission First Aid at Work Policy.
Age: 14+ (must be 16 to act as First Aider in the Workplace)
If you've not used your skills, it's understandable that you may become a bit 'rusty'.

Note: for the re-qualification course, your FAW must not have expired more than 3 months ago, but should ideally still be in date.
Age limits are as per the original courses.
